I’m Rui, a dad who cooks too much, games when the house is quiet, and can’t stop asking why.

Away from the screen you’ll usually find me in the kitchen, pouring a glass of wineI’ll describe with more confidence than I’ve earned, chasing a new album, or sneaking in a game once the house finally goes quiet. Home is a husband-and-dad kind of full, plus a dog who’s firmly convinced every meal is at least partly his.

What actually drives me is pretty simple: curiosity, and a stubborn itch to leave things a little better than I found them. It’s the same urge whether I’m reworking a recipe, a roadmap, or a bit of code. I started out as an engineer and never quite lost the habit of prying things open to see how they tick.

That itch pays the bills, too. These days I lead product at LastPass, looking after the Vault and Browser Extension that millions of people rely on, and spending a suspicious amount of time thinking about how AI is reshaping the way teams build.
